Birds.... well, dogs as birds.
Pleix Films has a short film called "Birds". In Short, it is amazing.... in long, we are jealous we didn't do it, and in medium..... there is no medium, go
watch it now.

Almost Naked...
Animals. "There's not much here besides animals wearing underpants." This site was originally posted on
Drawn!, (a blog we've mentioned before) but we just had to post it here as well. Very hard to pick a favorite, but I had to go with Giraffe because I completely disagree with this likes and dislikes. Isto is partial to the Sloth
. We cant wait to see more
Almost Naked Animals.

Social Bookmarking with Raw Sugar

I use
del.icio.us all the time, but when I heard about
Raw Sugar my attention was diverted. I still use del.icio.us .... but now pass my newly tagged sites off to
Raw Sugar which then throws the last 6 tags to to istoicaSpeak.
Raw Sugar has a cool hierarchy structure that you can toy around with and they also are awarding 500$ to the most popular person in a directory (category).
I like the idea of social networks intermingling..... plus
Raw Sugar looks nicer than
del.icio.us for now.

flickr in the city

The
zarinmedia photo exhibition project is a
flickr group. The
administrator has an office at
458 Ossington ave and the pictures posted to the group cycle through on an LCD in the window of his office. We think its a really great project with lots of fun possibilities. ...So if your in the area walk by and have a look.

iTunes U
Apple has just announced
iTunes U, a cool service thats going to allow universities to synchronize educational content through a customizable framework based in
iTunes. As students of the
University of Toronto, we think this is great...... we also think it's about time!

Want a Homepage that does things for you? Meet Netvibes.
Netvibes is a customizable homepage that allows you to add various content boxes via
RSS. It makes searching your top 20-30 sites (that use
RSS) easy by syndicating the content straight to you everytime you open your browser.

To add a feed box you just click the "add content" in the upper left corner of your
Netvibes page. Once this is done, you have a few choices. If you already know the feed you want to add, click "add my feed" and imput it's address.
(This is what the average feed will look like)

This "
RSS reader" will appear when one of the stories or links in your content box is clicked. From here you can streamline your reading and keep content that's usually sprawled over many pages confined to your own.
Beyond your typical
RSS,
Netvibes has gone the extra mile and created modules based on various Web 2.0 enterprises. These can be found under the "feed directory" and have icons to their left. One of our personal favourites is the
Flickr Module.

It allows you to use anyones
Flickr account as a feed. Our's is (http:/www.flickr.com/services/feeds/photos_public.gne?
id=76324984@N00&format=rss_200)

And once you have your flickr account feeding to your homepage, then it's useful to add your comments feed too! That way you have context. The Flickr comments feed is just like any other normal feed, you just find the address and add it.
Netvibes is a powerful, simple tool for streamlining information.
One content box can tell you the forecast....

While another can feed you your
Del.icio.us tags.....

... while yet another can feed you your
Gmail or POPMail account.

The list goes on and on. In short,
Netvibes is almost indespensible after you've gotten used to it..... and it keeps getting
better.

Flickeur
Flickeur is another fun example of what can be done with the
Flickr API. It's kind of amazing to consider how hard this would have been to pull off with real film....it gets better the longer you watch, so be patient.

Tagnautica

Tagnautica allows you to explore
flickr tags in a purely visual "click and and see what it shows you" kind of way. It's an interesting way to spend 5 minutes, but the depth of other projects such as Marcos Weskamp's
flickrgraph make it pale in comparison.

First words.
istoicaSPEAK is new. it's what
istoicaEVERYDAY would look like if it didn't have pictures and wasn't daily. Recently, through meeting other bloggers and photobloggers, we've realized that we have been missing something. The best photoblogs are ones that integrate into a community. So here's our node.
